PODA organization strongly condemns 30th January, 2023 terrorist attack at Peshawar Police Line Mosque in which 101 Pakistani citizens were martyred and more than 100 were injured.
PODA expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed in this attack. We demand that the government, Law enforcement agencies should arrest the culprits of this crime and the courts should bring them to justice. PODA calls on all political parties, religious scholars and civil society organizations to work together to stop the rise of extremism. We also demand a review and update of National Action Plan and its actual implementation. PODA demands inclusion of women citizen of Pakistan in peace processes such as District Peace Committees and Neighbourhood Committees for public safety and National Security meetings so that women can also play their role for peace and social cohesion in Pakistan.
It is the responsibility of the state to protect the life and property of all people living in Pakistan and to ensure that all citizen are protected at all times. The attack on the mosque is also a violation of religious rights of these who were praying peacefully in mosque.
PODA acknowledges the bravery and services of law enforcement agencies in combating attack on civilian and protecting citizens.
