PODA-Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Environment Protection Agency (Pak-EPA), organized the World Environment Day roadshow on 5th June, 2023 in Islamabad. This year’s World Environment Day theme is “Beat Plastic Pollution.” Over 200 students from different schools participated in this event. Sameena Nazir, Executive Director PODA-Pakistan emphasized that it is our responsibility, both as institutions and individuals, to address climate challenges and work towards a safer and more secure world. Under the Climate Change Education Programs of PODA is creating awareness, educating and building capacity of rural women, girls and children on Paper Mache, Plastic Recycling and Handicraft by adapting concept of 7R (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Regift, Recycle) from pollution to solution. PODA organized a stall, where different array of products made from recycled paper, plastic, and clothes were displayed. We were delighted to see the enthusiastic response from all the participants who appreciated our efforts towards sustainable living.
