For Capacity Building of Rural Women Leaders to Promote Vote Without Violence in Pakistan.
A day long activity is organised by PODA with support of NDI and USAID at Sukkur on capacity building of rural women leaders to promote vote without violence in Pakistan, 40 rural women leaders including minorities, transgender and PWD participated in it on 28.8.23 elaborating different topics e.g. significance of vote and CNIC registration, Method to conduct Mock polling exercise, inclusion in District voter education committee as member, violence of all forms especially against women in political process and remedies, relevant provisions of Election Act 2017 regarding undue influence, corrupt practices regarding, restraining voter and contesting women candidate (articles 167 to 174),violence against women laws, cyber crime prevention laws against social media harassment in election, Rural women leaders also participated in group work and Q/A activities. Professor Dr. Tahmina Mangan vice chancellor Begum Nusrat Bhutto women university graced the occasion attending second session, distributed accomplishment of training certificates to the participants and shared her views that training is need of the time on very needful subjects before forthcoming elections, praised PODA efforts to strengthen, promote and protect women in democratic process and wished to do collaborated efforts for economic, political empowerment and betterment of women in all fields of life in future.
