(Chakwal, 26 January 2024) In an informative session held at the PODA Climate Smart Sustainable Agriculture Farm, Maryam Fatima informed about nutritional facts and the rich history behind the Green Lettuce Leaf. The session oriented students about the significance of this green leafy plant in our diets and its journey through time. It was first introduced by Columbus. It is greatly grown in California, America in the whole world. It contains 95% water to keep us hydrated. It contains 40% Vitamin K to keep the bones strong and 15% Vitamins A which is best for eye health. While Carls Linnaeus first studied about it. Students of Zameer Akhtar Primary School enjoyed the lunch of Green Lettuce Leaf and Oranges at the end of session.
This practical experience not only educated them but inculcated a sense for healthier dietary choices among the younger generation.
