In celebration of Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, PODA (Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy) organized a special Kitchen Gardening Training session for the survivors at the Women Crisis Center, Islamabad, on August 13, 2024.

Under the guidance of Dr. Fozia Kanwal, Master Trainer and Manager of Climate Smart Agriculture at PODA, and Ms. Sheherbano Aman, Climate Officer at PODA, 20 women learned valuable skills in organic gardening, compost making, and seed ball creation. These women showed great interest and commitment to saving fruit and vegetable peels to grow their kitchen gardens with homemade compost and seed balls. They also pledged to empower other survivors like themselves by teaching these skills, contributing to sustainable practices and combating climate change.
