Lahore, August 28: The PODA team met with Ms. Bibi Waderi, Member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab (PML-N), to present the case of child marriages, highlighting its social, economic, health, and mental implications on a girl child, in order to amplify voices in favor of a legal amendment to raise the minimum age of marriage for girls to 18 years in the province.The PODA team, comprising Nabeela Aslam, Project Manager, Raheema Sultan, Coordinator for Central Punjab, Nasreen Anwar, Coordinator for South Punjab, Amina Mirza, PODA youth representative, and Shamim Akhter, PODA woman leader, met with Ms. Bibi Waderi, MPA, at her residence. Bibi Waderi is also president of Punjab Women Wing of PML-N.
