On Thursday, September 13, 2024, PODA, in collaboration with SPARC (Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child), held a transformative one-day Kitchen Gardening Training at the SPARC Training Center for Girls and Women, Golra Islamabad.

This session was attended by 40 enthusiastic women and girls  who were eager to learn the essentials of sustainable gardening. Under the expert guidance of PODA Master Trainers Dr. Fozia Kanwal, Ms.Maryam Fatima and Ms. Razia Participants gained valuable skills in soil preparation, seed selection, suitable time to sow vegetables,importance of different types of seedbeds,how to make compost from kitchen waste and organic ways to control different pests and diseases.

This training empowered young women to address food security issues and enhance climate resilience by equipping them with practical kitchen gardening skills.
