In an effort to promote accessible and safe transportation as a catalyst for girls’ education, PODA Lahore Team hosted an inspiring session featuring trailblazing motorbike rider Kulsoom Gulzar at The Citizen Foundation School in Roranwala, Lahore.
The school’s principal, Syeda Sumera, emphasized the transformative impact of reliable mobility solutions on girls’ education, stating that such measures could help eliminate barriers, reduce dropout rates, and empower girls to reach their potential, thereby fostering gender equality.
The session, attended by 45 enthusiastic female students, was part of PODA’s initiative, “Reduce Early Marriages to Enhance Gender Equality,” supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Islamabad.
PODA Board Member Ayesha Taslim also addressed the students, encouraging them to take control of their transportation needs as a stepping stone to independence and success.
Kulsoom Gulzar captivated the audience with her inspiring journey and provided practical motorbike riding tips, leaving the students motivated and confident.
The initiative highlighted the significant challenges girls face in accessing education, including financial constraints, restrictive cultural norms, and a lack of adequate public transportation.
PODA aims to address these barriers, ensuring that education remains within reach for every girl.
