WaterAid Pakistan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Potohar Organisation for Development Advocacy (PODA), a women-led/rights organisation, to collaborate on joint policy advocacy, program development, implementation, and resource mobilisation.

The partnership aims to promote Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) in the WASH, Public Health, and Climate Change sectors, with a primary focus on WASH interventions.

WaterAid Pakistan and PODA will also work together on initiatives to engage policymakers, sector partners, and the media, advocating for the integration of GESI into policy frameworks, plans, and budgets, particularly in WASH within the Public Health and Climate Change sectors.

Additionally, they will prioritise and promote women’s empowerment, including economic empowerment through women-led WASH entrepreneurship, and ensure the inclusion of women and marginalised groups in WASH technical and steering committees at both national and provincial levels.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Mian Muhammad Junaid, Country Director, WaterAid Pakistan, and Ms. Sameena Nazir, Executive Director, PODA, in the presence of other senior officials from both organisations.
