In March 2010, the Parliament of Pakistan passed a new law titled “Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010”.
PODA was one of the nine Pakistani NGOs and many concerned Pakistani citizens that demanded a new law in Pakistan to prevent Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace. Now, many organizations have adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy on sexual harassment that means that no complaint will be ignored and all complaints will be heard and decided by the inquiry committee in an impartial and confidential manner.
On 22 December 2021 PODA organized a consultation in collaboration with Chakwal Chamber of Commerce in Chakwal city. This activity was built on PODA’s 14th annual Rural Women Leadership Conference, held in Islamabad from 13 to 15 October 2021 and attended by 501 women leaders from across Pakistan. Participants were invited from district Chakwal including women farmworkers, entrepreneurs, daily wage workers, factory workers, teachers, lady health workers, lawyers, home-based women workers, and community activists.
