A day long training activity is organised by PODA with support of NDI and USAID at Hyderabad on ” Capacity building of rural women leaders to promote vote without violence in Pakistan”. 30 rural women leaders including minorities and transgenders of districts Badin, Dadu, Sanghar on 30.8.23 elaborating different topics such as significance of vote and CNIC, registration and verification of vote, political and democratic constitutional rights, electoral laws regarding vote without violence, undue influence with legal implications, redressal mechanism under Election Act 2017, Harassment forms, laws of harassment, Cyber crimes, hate speach in election against women and prevention, mock polling exercise, District voters Education committee corrupt practices restraining women voters and candidates in electoral process. Muhammad Azhar Hussain Regional election commissioner Hyderabad region said that election commission has completed all arrangements for full participation of all segments of society including women, transgender, minorities, persons with disabilities, Senator Krishna Kumari stressed that without the Participation of women and other weaker segments of society Democracy can not be strengthened. Farheen Mughal ex-MPA praised PODA efforts in shape of this training for peaceful environment in Democracy in Pakistan especially for women. Regional election commissioner Hyderabad assured full cooperation to rural women trainees in their respective districts for vote without violence in electoral process. Trainees throughout training remained attentive and responsive. At the end trainees are rewarded with accomplishment certificates by dignatories.
