PODA-Pakistan with the support of National Endowment for Democracy (NED) organized a webinar on ‘‘Equal Participation of Women in Democratic Processes: A Way Forward’ on the occasion of International Day of Democracy on September 15, 2020. Over 30 rural women leaders from 17 districts of four provinces of Pakistan including Gilgit Baltistan and Ex-FATA, representatives from civil society organizations, Election Commission of Pakistan, women parliamentarians and district government authorities participated in the webinar. The aim of the event was to commemorate the International Day of Democracy and deliberate on the key issues of women’s political participation and how stakeholders can play their role in ensuring women’s equal participation in upcoming local government elections in Pakistan.
