PODA Chakwal office team joined hands with Chakwal district government to organize an awareness-raising walk for World Environment Day on “Say No to Plastic” and promote a Plastic Free Chakwal” on 3 June 2024. In collaboration with district Administration, PODA youth took the lead in the walk and also gave Cloth bags made by GO Green Firdosi group to 100 women. The primary objective of this activity was to educate the public about the detrimental effects of plastic bags on human health, marine life, agriculture, and the environment. This event provided an opportunity to discuss the environmental hazards posed by plastic bags and to emphasize the importance of adopting sustainable alternatives. The community response was positive, with many individuals expressing their willingness to start using cloth bags.
